Prof. Roman Alvarez

National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico

He is a Professor of Institute of Geophysics and the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IIMAS). He obtained MSc and PhD from University of California, Berkeley in 1972 and 1974, respectively. He joined the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1974. In the 1989-1997 periods, he was director of the Institute of Geography. He was the Principal Investigator of NASA’s Lunar Sample Program in the 1975-1977 periods. He has directed and participated in numerous projects, in Mexico and abroad. He collaborates with graduate students and post-graduate doctorates in Geothermic, Volcanology, Magnetotellurics, Remote Sensing, and Gravity and Magnetic Modelling.  His editorial activities range from coordinating Special Issues, International Memoires and Bulletins, General Rapporteur, and Editorial Adviser. He has published research articles consistently throughout his academic career and is member of various academic evaluation committees.

Prof. Thomas Blaschke

Thomas Blaschkeis a Full Professor for Geoinformatics and Head of the Department of Geoinformatics – Z_GIS, University of Salzburg, and vice-president of the Society for Geoinformatics, GeoIT & Navigation. His research interests include methodological issues of the integration of GIS, Earth observation and image processing with aspects of human-environment interaction. Prior positions comprise several lecturer, senior lecturer and professor positions in Germany, Austria, and the UK. His academic achievements include >450 publications with an H-index of 95. He is an elected corresponding member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He is active in spin-off activities and has been serving on various advisory boards incl. ESA, the European Copernicus programme, ISPRS International Policy Advisory Committee and the International advisory bord of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals.

Prof. Kegen Yu

China University of Mining and Technology, China


Prof. Kegen Yu, he received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Instrumentation from Changchun College of Geology (now Jilin University) in 1983, his master of Engineering degree in robotics from Australian National University in 1999, and his Doctor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2003. He has worked in the School of Information Engineering of Nanchang University, the Wireless Communication Center (CWC) of the University of Oulu, Finland, and the Information and Communication Technology Center (ICT) of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) of Australia Centre), Department of Surveying and Geospatial Engineering, University of New South Wales (UNSW), and School of Surveying and Mapping, Wuhan University. He is currently a distinguished professor at the School of Environment and Surveying and Mapping, China University of Mining and Technology. In 2015, he was selected into the fifth batch of Hubei Province "100 People Plan" talent project, and won the title of Hubei Province special expert in the same year. From 2013 to 2017, he served on the editorial board of three international SCI journals (IEEE TVT, IEEE TAES, EURASIP JASP) for five consecutive years, as the first guest editor, and has hosted six SCI journal albums. He has published five English academic monographs in the field of wireless positioning and navigation, respectively published by IEEE-Wiley Press, Springer Nature, Science Press and other well-known publishing houses at home and abroad, three of which have been praised by Amazon, and participated in the writing of five English academic monographs in the field of ultra-broadband communication and remote sensing. He has published more than 100 SCI journal papers.
